Sample syllabi

This course aims to provide students with analytical frameworks to examine health policy issues, their impacts and implicationsfor individual patients and populations; To equip students with foundational knowledge of research methods to support their capstone projects, including approaches for designing and disseminating policy-relevant research; and To provide students opportunities to interface with scholars who have real-world health policy impact through policy research, decision-making, development, implementation, evaluation, and advocacy.
What can space teach us about the limits of human health and disease? What ethical standards should guide space research? How should we distribute the benefits of this research to people on Earth, and who decides? This seminar course will introduce students to the unique ethical, legal, and social issues of human experimentation in space and provide frameworks for analyzing them.
